Elise Smithmyer

Elise Smithmyer, LCSW-C  is a licensed social worker (Maryland license #19678). She earned her Masters degree at CUA in Washington, DC. Prior to being in private practice, Elise worked as a psychotherapist, behavioral health specialist, and transgender advocate in a community health care center. She has a background in nursing and practiced as a Registered Nurse before finding therapy as her calling. She has worked in a variety of settings and is trained in multiple modalities of therapy in order to provide care that is tailored to each individual. Elise has extensive experience working with persons struggling with depression, anxiety, life stressors, relationship issues, grief, substance abuse, HIV, and/or gender dysphoria. She is committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental space for all individuals to engage in care.
