Zainab Jackson is an extern and a fourth-year doctoral student in Counseling Psychology at Howard University and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland. She is also a Maryland Board Approved Supervisor. Zainab holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has nearly a decade of experience providing individual, group, and family therapy in school-based, community, and private practice settings. Zainab is dedicated to delivering culturally responsive care and has interests in mood disorders, trauma-informed interventions, identity development, and advancing mental health equity among underserved populations. Her clinical work draws from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic interventions, which she integrates based on each client’s unique needs and cultural context. Zainab is committed to bridging clinical practice, research, and community engagement to expand access to care and promote cultural humility in mental health services.
