John Flannery, LCSW-C (He/Him) is a licensed clinical social worker in Maryland with almost twenty years of experience providing therapy to adults as well as adolescents in both residential and school-based settings. He earned his undergraduate degree at Towson University and his master’s in social work from the University of Maryland. John’s specialties include anxiety, depression, recovery from alcohol and substance use, ADHD, grief and loss, and a variety of LGBTQ+-specific challenges. He has been part-time adjunct faculty in the LGBT Studies department at Towson University since 2008, which has added to his expertise in working with LGBTQ+ clients. He uses a variety of approaches with clients, including cognitive-behavioral therapies (CBT), EMDR, DBT, EFT, and solution-focused therapy. Most importantly, John’s goal is to help clients grow and evolve into the best version of themselves while honoring what that looks like to the individual.
