Evaluations for Children

Child Autism Evaluation

The Autism Evaluation for Children offers a thorough examination for children up to 17 years old. It is designed to deeply understand the various aspects of a child’s development, focusing on social communication and behaviors. The evaluation identifies signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through an extensive process that includes reviewing the child’s educational and medical records, administering parent and teacher questionnaires to gather insights on the child’s behaviors and skills, and conducting targeted testing. This testing comprises developmental/intellectual assessments, language assessments, and direct observation of characteristics of ASD using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2). Different procedures are applied depending on the child’s age group, ensuring a tailored approach. This detailed evaluation assesses for the presence of ASD by exploring social communication differences, restricted and repetitive behavior patterns, and considering differential diagnoses. A comprehensive psychological evaluation report is provided within 2-3 weeks after the testing, offering valuable insights for support and intervention planning. Child Comprehensive ADHD Evaluation

The Child Comprehensive ADHD Evaluation offers an in-depth examination tailored for children 4 to 17 years old. This evaluation is meticulously designed to assess and address the core aspects of attention and executive functioning that are often challenged in children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Our approach involves a comprehensive review of your child’s previous and current educational, medical, and psychological records, including Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and other pertinent evaluations. Additionally, we collect detailed insights through parent and teacher questionnaires that cover adaptive, social-emotional, and behavioral functioning, as well as executive skills. The evaluation process includes intellectual testing and specific assessments focused on inattentiveness, impulsivity, sustained attention, and vigilance. We also conduct an Achievement Assessment to evaluate skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. Each aspect of the evaluation is tailored to the child’s specific age and needs, ensuring a nuanced understanding of the child’s academic and cognitive abilities. A thorough psychological evaluation report is provided offering critical insights and recommendations for effective interventions and strategies to support your child’s development. Child Comprehensive Combined ADHD/Autism Evaluation

The Combined Comprehensive Child Evaluation for ADHD and Autism is an extensive assessment designed for children aged 4 to 17 years. This evaluation combines diagnostic approaches to offer a holistic understanding of a child’s developmental, cognitive, and behavioral profile. Our process begins with a thorough review of your child’s educational, medical, and psychological histories, including Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and any relevant past assessments or home videos.

Parent and teacher questionnaires are utilized to gather detailed information on the child’s adaptive, social-emotional, behavioral, and executive functioning skills. The evaluation also includes comprehensive developmental and intellectual assessments along with targeted language evaluations. Attention-specific assessments focus on inattentiveness, impulsivity, sustained attention, and vigilance.

Furthermore, a crucial component of this evaluation is the Achievement Assessment, which measures the child’s skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. To address concerns specifically related to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), play-based observations are conducted using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), which helps in identifying behaviors consistent with autism.

The evaluation is carefully structured to suit the child’s age and specific needs, providing a detailed understanding that guides both diagnosis and intervention strategies. A comprehensive psychological evaluation report is generated within 2-3 weeks following the assessment, offering valuable insights and tailored recommendations for supporting the child’s unique developmental journey. Child Psycho-Educational Evaluation

The Child Psycho-Educational Evaluation for Academic Testing is specifically designed for children aged 7 to 17 years, focusing on identifying academic strengths and challenges to tailor educational strategies effectively. This evaluation provides a detailed assessment of a child’s learning profile, particularly in areas of reading, writing, mathematics, and general cognitive abilities.

Our approach begins with a comprehensive review of the child’s educational history, including previous assessments, report cards, and feedback from educators. We engage with parents and teachers through detailed questionnaires to gather observations about the child’s learning behaviors, academic performance, and any concerns in the classroom setting.

The core of this evaluation involves a series of standardized tests tailored to the child’s specific age group. These tests include, but are not limited to, measures of intellectual functioning, specific academic skills assessments, and evaluations of language processing abilities. Each test is selected to provide a thorough understanding of the child’s academic capabilities and to pinpoint areas that require support or further investigation.

A detailed psychological evaluation report is compiled within 2-3 weeks after the testing, providing insights and actionable recommendations for educational interventions. This report is invaluable for parents, teachers, and school counselors to implement strategies that enhance the child’s academic journey and address any specific learning disorders or challenges.
