Behavioral Therapy Services for Children
Accepting New Clients.
PsychCare has immediate availability for behavioral therapy services for children.
Dr. McLean is a Pediatric Psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who specializes in providing behavioral services to children and adolescents. Using a combination of Behavioral Parent Training (BPT) and child-focused strategies, treatment goals seek to improve functional, appropriate skills and reduce behaviors which affect safety and quality of life. Behavior problems treated include tantrums/outbursts, aggression, disruptive behaviors, toilet training difficulties, mild self-injurious behaviors, elopement, sleep problems, and refusal/not following parent instructions
Therapy services are short-term (up to approximately 12 weeks) and family-centered, and focus on supporting parents in developing the confidence and skills needed to address difficult to manage behaviors within the home. Parent involvement is an essential component of treatment, and parents are given strategies to practice between appointments. Sessions are usually weekly at the beginning of treatment and become less frequent as improvement occurs.
Dr. McLean’s approach
