Rivka Janowski, LCPC is a licensed professional counselor in Maryland. She received her Counseling Psychology masters from Loyola University Maryland. Rivka’s passion lies in helping people to weed through their thorns to gain clarity and inner peace. She believes that each individual has multiple contributing factors to his or her distress that are the impetus for seeking help. For this reason she tries her best, as renowned psychotherapist Irvin Yalom phrased it, to “create a new therapy for each client.” Rivka uses theory and techniques from various modalities. She has experience working with couples and individuals — adolescents and adults — suffering from depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, trauma and abuse, addiction and substance use, divorce, infidelity, family conflict, relationship issues, life transitions, and suicidal ideation. Some of her specialties include anxiety, career counseling, and relationship/marriage issues. Rivka has previously worked in the school system, for an outpatient mental health clinic, a comprehensive addictions counseling center, a mental health agency, and in private practice.
