Rebecca Peffer (she/they) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Maryland. She earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Behavioral Health at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Rebecca started her career in community crisis intervention, helping individuals struggling with suicidal ideation, self-harm, and other safety concerns. Before joining PsychCare, Rebecca primarily worked with young adults experiencing mental health and substance use disorders at the intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization levels of care. Rebecca takes a strengths-based
approach toward helping clients navigate mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, substance use disorders, and everyday stressors. She has many years of experience working with LGBTQIA+ populations and enjoys helping clients explore issues related to gender and sexual identity. Rebecca’s therapeutic style is based on the understanding that each individual has inherent dignity and worth and that humans are constantly striving to reach their highest potential. She utilizes a combination of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help clients identify and work toward their unique goals.
