Penny Zimmerman

Penny Zimmerman, LCSW-C is a licensed clinical social worker in Maryland and Virginia. She earned a Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Psychology from Ohio University. She is an International Coach Federation Associate Certified Coach. Penny has over 20 years of experience providing clinical, supportive, and coaching services to children, adolescents, families, adults, and couples. Penny’s clinical specialties include life transitions, attachment, loss and grief, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, and the therapeutic application of sensory techniques. Penny has completed extensive training in expressive therapies (play, sand tray, and art), narrative therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, relaxation, mindfulness, and regulation, Theraplay, TF-CBT, CBT, trauma and trauma recovery, and attachment-focused parenting. She is a graduate of The Kalamazoo Center for Healing Arts and maintained a massage and bodywork practice in the Midwest before relocating to Maryland. She brings a client-centered, holistic, and creative approach to her work.
