Manuel Teran Hernández, M.A., (He/Him) is a Registered Psychology Associate who holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of Maryland. He has experience working with clients on anxiety, depression, body image and self-esteem, discrimination and acculturation-related stress, identity exploration, and family dynamics. He has particular expertise in serving LGBTQ+, Latinx/BIPOC, and young adult populations. He employs an integrative and strengths-based approach in therapy, drawing from Relational-Cultural, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, and Psychodynamic-Interpersonal Therapy.
Manuel has received national awards and recognition for his research and advocacy for the mental health of Communities of Color and LGBTQ+ populations. He has particular interest in working with children of immigrants on issues including navigating family dynamics, cultural expectations, and challenges in their educational or professional paths.
Manuel strives to create a supportive and empowering environment where clients can explore their therapeutic goals, achieve healing, and be recognized as their most authentic selves.
