Dr. Gary Stone (he/him) is a licensed psychologist in Maryland. He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology (Ph.D.) from Catholic University of America, in Washington, DC, and completed his predoctoral internship at the University at Albany Counseling Center in Albany, New York. Prior to joining private practice with PsychCare, Dr. Stone served as the Assistant Director of the Stevenson University Wellness Center, and he also has experience working in maximum security correctional settings, and in a domestic violence treatment center.
Dr. Stone has been involved in the mental health field for over 25 years through research, teaching, and providing psychotherapy. He has experience providing therapy to adolescents, adults, and groups for a wide variety of issues such as anxiety and depression, adjusting to major life transitions, substance use problems, grief/loss, and more. Dr. Stone likes to be flexible in integrating multiple different therapy styles in order to be as helpful as possible. He especially enjoys utilizing collaborative techniques and a solution-focused attitude to help clients strive towards their goals.

Ariel Martin, M.S. is a Registered Psychology Associate who has experience providing therapy for children, adolescents, and adults in outpatient settings. Her experience includes treating neurodevelopmental disorders such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, OCD mood and anxiety-related disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder. She also supports clients with personal development through identity exploration, coping with life transitions, and managing interpersonal relationships. She utilizes an integrative approach in her therapeutic work, which includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and mindfulness techniques tailored to suit the individual client.
Ariel also has experience engaging in milieu therapy with adolescents and adults in residential treatment settings. In addition to therapy, Ariel conducts psychoeducational assessments for clients who seek diagnostic clarity regarding cognitive, academic, and socio-emotional functioning. Ariel has earned both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Psychology. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Loyola University Maryland. Ariel was born in Trinidad and grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. She enjoys dancing, singing, and caring for her plants during her free time.

Ashley Shelton, M.S., M.A. is a registered psych associate practicing under the supervision of James Rutledge, Psy.D. She earned her master’s degrees
in psychology from Southern New Hampshire University and in clinical psychology from Stevenson University, where she is currently working towards her doctorate degree in clinical psychology (Psy.D). Ashley has previously worked in a variety of settings, including Kennedy Krieger Institute, Mosaic Community Services, and Brighter Stronger Foundation, with a diverse age range of clients including children, adolescents, college students, and adults. She has experience conducting individual therapy and psychological assessments. Her clinical interests include working with teens and young adults navigating identity exploration, trauma, interpersonal relationships, social pressures, life transitions, and stress. Ashley values creating a welcoming, safe, and supportive space while using a collaborative and integrative approach to therapy filled with acceptance, empathy, and cultural humility. She is committed to providing a personalized and holistic approach to care that enhances each client’s well-being and fosters positive change.

Brianna Leonard, LCPC, is a master level extern practicing under the supervision of Dr. Lateffa Robinson, PhD. She earned her master’s degree in mental health counseling from Bowie State University. Additionally, she obtained her master’s degree in clinical psychology from Stevenson University where is she is currently working on her doctorate degree in clinical psychology (PsyD). Brianna has worked in various settings include a psychiatric outpatient crisis home, community mental health center and in private practice. She has experience working with a diverse range of clients including children, adolescents, college students, adults and families. She has experience conducting individual therapy and psychological assessments. Her clinical interests include working with minorities, couples, and adults exploring issues related to anxiety, self esteem, interpersonal relationships, communication challenges and difficult life transitions. She aims to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic space for client to open up, collaborate, explore and identify their challenges, needs and successfully grow towards their ideal self.

Kristen Custer (she/hers) is an extern under the supervision of Dr. Victoria Lee. Kristen is currently a doctoral clinical psychology student at Stevenson University, previously earning her Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. Kristen practices as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland and specializes in the treatment of anxiety for adult populations as she is a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional. She also has experience providing therapy to those struggling with depression, obsessive-compulsive, trauma, and stress related disorders. Kristen has an eclectic approach, incorporating theories and interventions from Cognitive Behavioral, Exposure Response Prevention, Interpersonal, Feminist, and Client-Centered therapies. She values multicultural competency, is an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community, and practices trauma-informed care.
