Katie Culbertson

Katie Culbertson, LMSW is a licensed master social worker in the state of Maryland. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Katie has experience providing individual and group therapy to undergraduate and graduate students at a university counseling center. She has also worked in hospital and nonprofit agency settings providing case management services for adults and families. Katie enjoys working collaboratively alongside clients to help them navigate through challenges, such as family or relationship concerns, stress, anxiety, depression, loss, and adjustment/transitions. She draws from interpersonal therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy approaches to help clients heal and grow. Katie practices under the supervision of Elise Smithmyer, LCSW-C.
